What is Your Story

What story do you tell yourself when you want to accomplish a goal? Are you doubting it will ever happen but decide you're going to hope for the best? Does that thought inspire you to move forward? I can tell you with certainty that is a recipe for disaster, a.k.a. not hitting your goal.

You need to turn your thoughts into action, but just as important, you need to be committed to and Believe the outcome you want will happen. Not maybe coming, not one day it's going to happen, it's just done.

So how do you get into that "it's done" energy? For those of you who are more in-tuned in this type of work, this won't be a significant "aha" moment, but I think it's worth repeating.

It all has to do with your EMOTIONS.

If you are having a great day emotionally, we can all pretty much agree that life's minor annoyances are, well, not so annoying.

Often, when we set goals for ourselves, the feelings that come up are not so pretty. We think, well, if I only had this..., then I would be happy.

I can't be happy, and I am going to judge myself until I do. How in the world is that way of thinking going to help you achieve your goal?

What if you could set your intention and go about your day as if it's already happened? Not an easy thing to do, but it does get easier with practice.

When you think of the thing you want, and you suddenly have this feeling in the pit of your stomach because you don't believe you can have it or think it will take too long, you're doing it wrong.

USE YOUR IMAGINATION IN A WAY THAT SERVES YOU AND PRETEND THAT WHAT YOU WANT IS ALREADY HERE, RIGHT NOW.

Do you want that perfect partner?

Then start acting the way you would, and feel the way you would, right now as if the relationship is already here physically. Usually, when I hear that someone can't find a relationship, I tend to find that their relationship with themselves is negative. They would never put up with someone treating them the way they treat themselves! Treat yourself with love and respect so that others treat you with love and respect.

Want to get a new job?

Act and feel the way you would once you have the job. How would you dress? How would you treat yourself and others? How would that future you feel and feel that way now? That is how you align yourself to what you desire so that you can become a vibrational match. The universe and everything in it are energy and energetic vibrations.

What is that future version of you?

Years ago, I remember when I decided to leave a "stable" job because I was burned out in that role and decided that I would earn at least 30% more in my next one. I envisioned it, I had a number in my mind, and I set out to find it.

I came across people who told me that it wasn't possible. They said I already needed to be earning close to the number I wanted to for the salary I desired. I just thanked those people for their time and kept going. I didn't believe THEIR story on how my career trajectory should go. I didn't get into the mind space of well, maybe they're right, or am I kidding myself? I knew 1000% that I was more than capable of getting what I wanted and wouldn't settle for anything less.

Five months later, I got the position and salary I wanted!

I also received a few job offers within those five months that were sort of near my goal, and I could have thought to myself that this is better than nothing. I even had a friend say, are you going to walk away from that opportunity? Only you know what is best for you!

When other well-meaning friends and family suggest that you settle, it speaks to their mindset, not yours, unless you choose to believe it.

The point is to trust yourself and know that you are more than capable of achieving what you desire in your life.
