The Year of the Water Tiger is almost here!
As someone who's had a lifelong passion for feng shui and is a feng shui practitioner, I would be remiss not to talk about the new energies coming in for the year. Feng Shui is one of the branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM, and I like to think of Feng Shui as acupuncture for your home.
It is about tapping into the energy of your home to promote peace, clarity, ease, and flow in your home. Just as our bodies have meridian energy lines, so do the earth and the houses on them. Our bodies are electromagnetic, and science has measured this. All things made from earth elements vibrate with molecular energy.
February 4th marks the beginning of the Year of the Water-Tiger. As the third animal of the Chinese zodiac, the Tiger symbolizes bravery, courage, confidence, and the exorciser of evils.
I want to discuss the positive areas and energies coming into your home for 2022. Take note and try to have your home ready by February 4th so you can make the most of the year and good chi.
Now is an excellent time to declutter and remove anything that no longer serves you. Remember, if it's broke, you're broke.
Whether it's a refresh with paint, adding fresh flowers in a vase, fresh fruit in a bowl on your kitchen counter or dining room table, there are simple ways to make your home feel fresh and more appealing to your eyes.
You will need a compass to locate these areas in your home. Stand in the front door of your home facing out the door. Hold the compass flat so it's parallel to the floor, pointing out the front door. Determine what direction you are facing and write down the direction and degrees. Step back further into the home and take a few more readings to ensure accuracy. If you have a floor plan for your home, you can then map out the other areas of your home.
Here are the areas you want to focus on activating in 2022.
The North
The element of the North is water and represents career and life's journey. The visiting 1 White Victory Star in 2022 represents career and is a water star, an element that is synonymous with wealth. It symbolizes new opportunities and winning luck. Add water and metal elements here in 2022. The North also relates to the ears and kidneys. If you notice problems with these parts of the body, for example, frequent bladder infections, you want to take a look at this area of your home.
The Northeast
The 8 Prosperity Star flies to the Northeast of every home this year. The earth element rules this area and star, representing the hands. Spend time here this year and add round-leafed plants and perhaps a vision board in this area. Problems with the hands like arthritis? Look at this area of your home and remove metal and wood. Add earth elements here using actual earth, pottery, earth colors, and pictures.
The Northwest
This year, the 6 Heaven Star flies into its native position and is ruled by the metal element. It is a crucial area for wealth and success in the year of the Tiger. This area is also supported by earth, so have these elements in this location. The Northwest represents the male head of the house, and if there isn't one, it means the primary breadwinner of the home. The Northwest represents the head. Issues with excess headaches or stress? Check this area for open flames like candles or an excess of water. Crystals are excellent for this part of your home. Use blues and black in your decor here.
The South
The 9 Purple Future Prosperity Star flies into the South area this year. Green leafy plants, fresh flowers, candles, bright colors, and bright lighting are suitable for this area. The South represents the eyes and the heart. If you find you have problems with either, ensure that there isn't any water or earth in this area.
The Southeast
The annual 4 Sun Wood Star will fly back to its inherent location in the southeast. This star can enhance love, relationships, career, travel prospects, creativity, academic prospects, and self-development when activated correctly. Think of this part of your home as your manifestation area and add pictures or a list of things you want to manifest here this year. Add green leafy plants, romantic artwork, a picture of your partner and yourself, and mandarin ducks. Avoid metal and fire here this year. This area represents the legs and buttocks. If you have any problems with either, check what you have in this area.
