How to Declutter + Organize Your Mind
Vivian Frost
I often talk about how our thoughts create our reality and how they reaffirm our current beliefs.
But how often do you take the time to see what's in that beautiful mind of yours?
Take 3-5 minutes every day to write what you're thinking. That's it.
It doesn't have to be a long worn-out process. Put a timer on and just write.
Why? Because it's the best way to declutter your brain.
Take a look at whatever is in your brain, and without judgment.
Thoughts are just thoughts, and they have no meaning unless you attach importance to them.
Once you write them down, look at them.
Are they thoughts that you want to keep thinking?
Are they serving you?
Are you surprised by anything?
You get to decide, on purpose, what you want to keep and get rid of what no longer serves you.
You can choose to think any thought you want. You can replace old beliefs with new ones.
You can try on the ones programmed into you as a child and decide whether it still fits. Maybe you've grown out of some of them?
If that's true, then what do you want to think and believe instead?
Our brain's goal is always to seek pleasure, avoid pain, and be efficient. It's called the Motivational Triad.
That is why we give up on trying new things and don't follow through on the goals we create for ourselves.
Our brain sees them as a threat to its security.
Realize that the "threat" is just your thinking. There is no real threat.
No bear is waiting to pounce on you when you walk out of your home.
And since knowledge is power, doesn't it feel amazingly freeing to know that you can change your mind?
You can still have those crappy thoughts, and you will because it is normal to have them, and still decide to follow through on what you say you will.
Why? Because you CAN.
Decide to give the writing thing a whirl and message me with any questions.
You've got this!
XO, Vivian
