If you could eliminate confusion from your life, how would that make your life a lot easier?
Being confused is a choice, an unnecessary one. Most of the time, the real reason you get confused is that you are searching for the right choice and are afraid to make the wrong one.
The "right choice" is subjective. What if there weren't any wrong choices? How can you trust your decision-making process?
Spinning in confusion could also be considered buffering because it prevents you from taking action. It lets you off the hook because, well, you're confused.
"Nobody can give you wiser advice than yourself." ~Cicero
Asking yourself the right questions is critical.
If you say to yourself, why am I so lazy? Your brain will go to work to answer that.
What if I make the wrong decision? Your brain will take you down that rabbit-hole as well.
However, if you instead said to yourself, I always know what to do.
Or asked, what if I did know?
The way you frame the question matters!
Intuition and trusting your gut.
I'm a big believer in trusting my intuition mainly because things didn't bode well whenever I went against it.
It always intrigues me when my body knows before my brain does. If you are trying to decide on a direction you want to go in, ask yourself, if I do XYZ, how will that feel?
You will feel a reaction in your body! It's different for everyone, but it's a no if I feel tight or constricted.
Create some space for yourself.
We all process information and make decisions based on that information in different ways. I like to sleep on it and come back to it before making a big decision. Creating that space for myself gives me clarity instead of responding in the heat of the moment, especially if it’s an important one.
You can do other things to create space: working out, going for a walk, doing anything that requires your full attention, and seeing if the decision you're trying to make becomes transparent for you.
There is no right way of doing anything, only the way that works for you. You don't have to be perfect. Learn from what doesn't work and keep going.
