Activating Positive Areas in 2021
Feng Shui is one of the branches of TCM. I like to think of feng shui as acupuncture, or tapping, for your home. It is literally about tapping into the energy of your home to promote peace, clarity, ease, and flow in your home. Just as our bodies have meridian lines of energy, so does the earth and the houses on them. Everything is energy, including inanimate objects. Our bodies are electromagnetic in nature, and science has measured this. All things made from earth elements vibrate with molecular energy.
There is an emotional association that lasts until we part with an object. Think of that family heirloom in your family for generations, or the gift that was given to you by an ex. To say that there is no energy attached to them is false. And well, if you disagree, you wouldn’t be reading this post anyway. 😊
For you believers of energy and how it impacts us all, read on to see what positive aspects are coming for you in 2021.
February 12th marks the beginning of the Year of the Ox. As the second animal of the Chinese zodiac, the Ox denotes the hard work, positivity, and honesty that will manifest in all of us in the coming 12 months.
The Ox is grounded, loyal, gentle, and trustworthy. We all need this after last year!
The Chinese calendar, which rotates in 60-year cycles based on 12 earthly branches, each represented by an animal year, and five-element years — wood, fire, earth, metal, and water — 2021 is the Year of the Metal Ox. Each earthly branch characterizes a yin or yang force and an element, so this year is more specifically the Yin Metal Ox.
In the Year of the Rat last year, the energy was fast, hard, active, and yang. At the same time, the element was water, which changes form all the time. Therefore, making everything feel so unsettling. The Ox's energy is associated with yin, slow, soft and passive. Its element is earth and represents stability, nourishment, and fertility. I believe these characteristics are so important and welcome after last year.
Today I want to tell you about the positive areas and energies coming into your home for 2021. These areas are beginning to transform right now and solidify from February 4th to February 12th. Please take note and try to have your home ready by February 12th so you can make the most of the good chi.
It's an excellent time to declutter and remove anything that no longer serves you. Remember if it’s broke, you’re broke. So please get rid of those broken items or things that remind you of unhappy times as well. Why? Because your eyes and heart are connected in feng shui. What your eyes see affects you at a heart level. And this is good news because you can control what you look at in your home! Whether it's a refresh with paint, adding beautiful fresh flowers in a vase, or looking at a beautiful gemstone, there are simple ways to make your space more appealing to your eyes.
Here are the areas you want to focus on activating in 2021.
Center: Element earth, visiting 6 Heavenly Star (reigning star for 2021), represents health, add earth, pottery, and earth colors.
East: Element is wood, visiting 4 Scholastic and Romance Star, represents family and health. Add plants and perhaps a vision board in this area.
South: Element Fire, visiting 1 Victory Star, add wood to this area. This year's Peach Blossom luck is in the South this year as well. Peach Blossom is about romance. To activate, add fresh flowers in vibrant colors, romantic art, and pictures.
West: Element metal, visiting 8 Prosperity Star, represents children and creativity. Add symbols that represent wealth to you and plants with full round leaves.
Northeast: Element earth, visiting 9 Future Prosperity Star, represents spirituality and knowledge, add earth elements like pottery or crystals.
If you need help in finding these areas of your home, I do offer mini 1-hour sessions to help get you started so that you can define your floor plan for yourself.
I wish you all a blessed, healthy, and prosperous year ahead!
